ATHLETICS RECOGNISED IN NEW YEAR'S HONOURS LIST
Representatives from athletics have been recognised in the 2021 New Year’s Honours List.
Congratulations go to Olympian Donna Fraser – UKA’s Equality, Diversity and Engagement Lead who becomes an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to Equality, Inclusion and Diversity in the Workplace.
Donna has led key activities in the ED & I area for UKA and other organisations in recent years and led on the ground-breaking COACH exhibition. She has also been a key figure within UKA’s ‘Let’s Talk About Race’ programme which recently culminated in a sport-wide commitment to tackle issues of racial inequality.
Also recognised within the sport as Member of the Order (MBE) is British Athletics Supporter’s Club Life Vice-President Susan Deaves for services to Athletics in Surrey. In addition, former national athletics coach and athlete Peter Warden and Graham Wright are recognised for services to athletics in the North West becoming Medallists of the Order of the British Empire (BEM).
Scottish Athletics are also celebrating with both Endurance Coach Sophie Dunnett, and David Adamson becoming Medallists of the Order of the British Empire for services to Athletics.
