MY CHRISTMAS - SOPHIE HAHN

British Athletics continues its series with athletes revealing their plans for Christmas 2017 with multiple global para medallist Sophie Hahn…

A childhood memory of Christmas

Christmas has always been lovely in our house. Mum makes it very special for us all. It’s the best day of the year. I’m really a big kid so I’ll be up early in the morning, saying to my family: “Wake up please! I want to open my presents.”

What is the best Christmas present you ever received?

I got a doll’s house when I was younger and I have still got it.

Who will you spend Christmas 2017 with?

I’ll be spending it with my family and friends; they always make it special.

What will the day be like?

Chaos. Fun and games and eating a lot of mince pies! We always eat too much lunch and then fall asleep on the settee. But we do also have a big dog-walk with our three dogs in between.

Will you train on Christmas Day?

No, I will have Christmas Day and Boxing Day off this year but will be back to training very soon afterwards. 2018 is a very exciting year with the Commonwealth Games in April which I am really looking forward to.

What does Christmas mean to you?

Christmas is special because it brings family and friends closer. It’s just a really nice day.
